Beautiful, Simple and Profound
As most Solo travellers will know, there are moments of extreme inner searching. You will find yourself walking down pathways most people rarely tread, not even the locals, you will chance across moments of clarity but inevitably clouded by new thoughts. Surrounded by hundreds of thousands of people all walking past in a blur.
You are happy to be there alone, but realise how beautiful it is to share thoughts of simple beauty with simple actions, by a simple means.
I was moved yesterday, more then any other moment alone, chancing across a traditional performance rehearsal to be held in a VIP garden only just viewable through the trees and undergrowth. as i sat on the outskirts staring at the wind blown fledgling bamboo shoot. time slowed and all was as it should be, a practiced cycle of calculated movement of dancer, shamizen and voice.
as i search for the feeling all i see behind my eyes is darkness, only something i will feel. Change, but to express in small part my experience through video and sound (not the outdoor performance i witnessed) but one beautiful none the less.
